Baby Travel Checklist
Taking a trip with baby? Every new parent needs to know what to take for overnight stays. You can't very well
pack your entire nursery, so below is a list to keep your suitcase lighter.
In addition to a fully stocked diaper bag, pack the following in an additional bag:
- Extra diapers (about 6 per day)
- Extra baby wipes
- Baby seat for the car
- Car-shade screens for car windows (if driving a long distance, this will help baby nap)
- Baby stroller (collapsible)
- Baby carrier or sling
- Baby crib (collapsible). Often called "Pack n' Play", portable playpen or Travel Crib.
- Toys, books, etc. to keep baby entertained
- A Nightlight (if baby is not used to sleeping in darkness)
- Baby's favorite stuffed animal for sleeping (this helps baby associate the new bed with his usual bed)
- Baby formula with extra bottles
- Medication and baby aspirins
- Sun protection (sunscreen, umbrellas, hats, etc.)
- Appropriate outerwear (jackets, blankets, etc.)
- Clothing for baby (about 3 outfits per day)
- If the place you are going to is not child-proofed, you will want to bring sagfety gates, outlet covers, etc.
